Hi AAA’ers!
This week we’re just going to take it easy and have some fun at the Farmer’s Market! Come meet us at the usual place and time — Hunt 1150 @ 6pm — so that we can all walk downtown together. Take this chance to get to know each other better (and get to know us better!). It’s suggested that you bring some cash and sunglasses. Let’s chill out on the lawn, listen to some folk music, and fill our stomachs with some good ol’ local chow!
Also, we’re having a social in Sacramento this Saturday, the 19th! So last week we practiced our singing, this weekend let’s apply it! We plan to go karaoke :D
- Meet at the MU tennis courts, 7pm
- Dinner at Shoki Ramen II
- Karaoke at Blue Moon
- Please respond to this email if you intend to go so that we can figure out rides :)
And don’t forget: APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR NEXT YEAR’S CABINET! Apply today!
Lastly, this week marks the last week of AAA Film Fest. The line up is so engaging, I’m so excited! :D
- Tuesday, Tales of the Waria
- Wednesday, One Big Hapa Family
- Thursday, The Crumbles
- Watch all trailers here & all showings are @ 7pm, Chem 194
And one little reminder: we’re holding our annual AAA BBQ @ Slide Park on June 2nd! Details forthcoming, but it will be a pot luck-style event :D We will bring the meats and & buns, of course!

Haven’t been updating this blog lately (mah baddd…). Hope y’all had a great Picnic Day! The sweltering heat was a beezy, but it only felt better when it got all breezy (lololol).
More in-depth update in a jiffy, but in the mean timez, there’s no meeting this week. Instead, we’re holding a workshop on Vincent Chin — AAA presents “VINCENT WHO?”
The workshop — from 7:30 - 9:30pm, at the latest, on Monday 4/23 — is one of the many incredible events happening on campus for APCW — Asian Pacific Culture Week. I’m hella bummed that my midterms are the same week ;______; Otherwise, I wouldn’t be so choosy about which events I’m going to.
But please come out to support us! Love yourself a little, learn a little about the Asian-American historical experience, live a little and take a chance on this workshop. We’re cool, we’re not preaching, y’all, we promise.

Southeast Asian Youth Conference is being held this weekend, and they are still in need of volunteers! As a volunteer there will be many tasks to choose from including but not limited to: helping check in the students, setting up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, serving food, guiding students to the right places, prepping for workshops or activities, and running any errands on the day of the conference.
Personally, I volunteered last year, and I had a blast :) I still keep in touch with people that I met there (other volunteers / group leaders)!
ASIAN VOICES Greatest Hits A performance that is a celebration of stories, voices, and experiences of Asian Pacific Americans that are

ASIAN VOICES Greatest Hits presents stories that are told/performed on its own terms in a raw and honest fashion, combining performance art/theater, monologue, and storytelling. Directed by guest artist professor Alex Luu and starring the BEST of the best performers from his unique ASA 121/MY OWN STORY class since ‘09, ASIAN VOICES Greatest Hits promises to be hilarious, thought-provoking, heartrending, and poignant. ASIAN VOICES Greatest Hits is definitely not to be missed!

Please do not forget to read through the candidates and vote for ASUCD! Get involved in your community by making a difference! ASUCD turnouts affect you (as well as the entire student body) personally — from progressive changes to the seemingly simple upkeep of bathrooms!
AAA will not try to sway you towards specific candidates (even though we all have our biases) because doing so isn’t morally sound. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vote! It’s simple, easy, and quick.
Voting ends this Friday, so do it soon!
